LGBTQ+ Shame

Find relief

Growing up in a world that doesn’t always affirm who you are can create deep feelings of shame. Many LGBTQ+ individuals experience rejection, discrimination, or the subtle yet harmful message that they must hide or change parts of themselves to be accepted. This can lead to internalized shame—negative beliefs about your worth, struggles with self-acceptance, or feeling like you have to prove yourself to be "enough."

LGBTQ+ shame can show up in many ways—perfectionism, self-doubt, difficulty in relationships, or even anxiety and depression. It may feel like a weight that holds you back from fully embracing yourself. But you are not broken, and you don’t have to carry this burden alone.

Therapy is a space where you can unlearn these harmful messages, explore your identity in a safe and affirming environment, and reclaim your self-worth. Together, we’ll work through past experiences of rejection or invalidation, challenge internalized negative beliefs, and help you cultivate self-acceptance and confidence. You deserve to feel proud of who you are, and I’m here to support you on that journey.
